The Health Newspaper can authoritatively reveal that on Monday 9th January 2023, a security personnel of the private security company Black Guard, Alie Baryoh of Taylor Street in Freetown, was found dead in one of the company vehicles at Shankerdas Company at the Wellington Industrial Estate in east end Freetown.

The Investigating Officer, D/PC 17702 George E., who is attached to the Wellington Industrial Estate Police Post, confirmed to The Health Newspaper that their Officer- In-Charge, Amara, on that day received a distress call that there was a corpse at the Shankerdas Company inside a company vehicle.

D/PC 17702 George E. disclosed that when they visited the crime scene, they found out that there was food substance and another substance lying alongside the deceased which investigation would further prove.

The Investigating Officer assured that they are doing their utmost to ensure the true cause of death is obtained through autopsy at the Connaught Teaching Hospital Mortuary in Freetown for further action to be taken in the investigation.

Speaking to the elder of the deceased, Mr. Alie Kamara, he said when they were called by the late man’s colleague that his younger brother has passed away, he immediately responded by visiting the scene for confirmation.

Mr. Alie Kamara averred that they as a family wants justice to prevail in the death of their sibling and that they are waiting for the police to investigate the matter and come out with the autopsy report about the cause of death of his younger brother.

Representing the Security Company was Mr. Ibrahim Tarawally, who confirmed that he was called by one of the Commanders that were supervising the other guards that Alie Baryoh had passed away and they were calling for a speedy investigation into his death.

The corpse of Alie Baryoh is currently at the Connaught Teaching Hospital Mortuary for postmortem examination to be carried out.

Meanwhile, effort by The Health Newspaper to reach out to Shankerdas Company for its response to the death of the security personnel proved futile. However, this medium will continue to investigate this human interest story until the right action is taken by the appropriate authorities within the State.
