The Security Sector has reacted to a video made by a Sierra Leone abroad threatening members of the main opposition All People’s Congress (APC).

In the 52 second video, a man was shown brandishing a gun while stating that it is meant for supporters of the APC.

The Security Sector equated the video to precursor of violence while describing the author as a coward.

The Security Sector, condemns, with utter revulsion and dismay, this unpatriotic attitude and calls on the author to retract the unfortunate piece,” the said.

They added that they currently studying the contents with all its details.

In the said video released on the early hours of Thursday, appeared to be imhis thirties threatened to use live rounds on APC supporters while calling on others to purchase the brand of revolver he held.

The Security Sector, however, admonished organisations and individuals close to the video’s author to dissociate themselves from him.

In early April, the Office of National Security (ONS) issued a statement that they will be instituting strict security protocols ahead, during and after the elections in June. They indicated that there will be an institution of Military Aid to Civil Power (MAC-P) ready to squash any potential peace disruption ahead of and during the elections.
