The Sick Pikin Project announced on March 12, 2025, that two of their children, John Kamara and Gbassay Jalloh, will depart Sierra Leone tomorrow morning for India to undergo critical surgeries for their congenital heart diseases

According to Sick Pikin Project, this momentous occasion comes as a fulfillment of their promise to send the first set of children abroad following our successful marathon fundraising event in December 2024.

Further adding that Both John and Gbassay face significant health challenges: Gbassay is battling tetralogy of Fallot, while John suffers from a perimenopause ventricular septal defect. Each child requires $15,000 to cover surgery fees, accommodation, feeding, and flights.

We are incredibly grateful for the generous donations that have made this possible, including a remarkable contribution of $12,500 from Stephen Caulker and support from the Bank of Sierra Leone, which provided Leone 30,000 last year, as stated by the Sick Pikin Project.

Sick Pikin Project also extends their heartfelt thanks to Shri Gurudwara Sahib, their golden sponsor for the December 2024 marathon, as well as Catholic Relief Services, Child Fund, ActionAid Sierra Leone, Dynamic Ladies, and our dedicated individual donors, including Madam Ms. Tucker, Sister Sarata, Sister Hulaimatu, Sister Sallay, and Uncle JohnPaul, our most consistent monthly donor.

Finally, they continue to extend their appreciation to all those who participated in our 2024 marathon and contributed to our donation boxes in banks and during street fundraising campaigns. Your support is truly saving lives.
