Nigerian travel content creator, Pelumi Nubi, has faced a frustrating setback on her ambitious solo journey from London to Lagos.
Nubi, who is driving a right-hand drive vehicle, was denied entry into Sierra Leone due to the country’s regulations.
Nubi, nearing the end of her nearly two-month-long adventure, documented her experience on Instagram. She expressed exhaustion and disappointment, highlighting the continuous challenges encountered at border crossings.
“They said access was denied so close to the finish line,” Nubi wrote. “This time Sierra Leone, they don’t want my ‘right-hand’ drive car to come into their country.”
Nubi described the experience as a “battle against relentless red tape,” referencing the bureaucratic hurdles encountered at each border. Determined to continue her journey, Nubi appealed to her online supporters for encouragement, expressing hope that Sierra Leone will grant her entry soon.
