Councillor Murana Fobbie, a prominent member of the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) and representative for Ward 345 in Kori Chiefdom, Moyamba District, has expressed feelings of neglect and abandonment by his party as he battles illness.

Over the weekend, Fobbie called upon SLPP members at all levels—local, national, and international—to come to his aid during this challenging time.

Recognized for his dedication and awarded the title of best councillor during his first term, Fobbie has been instrumental in delivering numerous projects that have benefited both his ward and the wider Moyamba District. However, since the start of his second term, he has faced significant hardships.

Since falling ill shortly after the June 2023 elections, Fobbie has received support from Youth Minister Mr. Mohamed O. Bangura, yet he feels that many of his party members have turned their backs on him. “I feel totally abandoned and neglected,” he lamented, highlighting the emotional toll of his situation.

Councillor Fobbie’s heartfelt plea serves as a reminder of the importance of community and solidarity within political circles. He is now reaching out to Sierra Leoneans, particularly his fellow SLPP members, urging them to remember his contributions to the party and to extend their support in his time of need.
