Friends, family, and fellow party members bid a final farewell to the late 22-year-old SLPP supporter, Elizabeth Kpaka. Ms. Kpaka, who passed away on February 14, 2024.

In a poignant ceremony on Sunday, February 25, 2024, Kpaka was laid to rest after a well-attended funeral ceremony at the New Harvest Central House of Gathering in the old Railway Line Quarters in Bo City.

Ms. Kpaka, a final year student at Njala University, Bo Campus, was not only a promising academic but also a dedicated supporter of the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP). Her untimely departure on February 12, 2024, left a void within both the academic community and the political landscape.

During the funeral service, heartfelt tributes were paid to Ms. Kpaka, highlighting her vibrant spirit and her contribution to the SLPP. She is notably believed to be the person who popularized the election slogan for the June 24, 2023, Presidential, Parliamentary, and Local Council ward elections: “Go vote saful, return na ose saful, wait for the results saful; if you win, celebrate saful; and if you lose, sidom saful.”

The ceremony brought together a diverse gathering of mourners including the Vice President Dr.Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh, reflecting the impact Ms. Kpaka had on both political discourse and the lives of those who knew her.
