Umaru Napoleon Koroma, the National Secretary General of the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP), has issued a strong statement addressing recent personal attacks directed at government and party officials.

In his message, Koroma expressed concern over the increasing incidents of abuse and defamatory remarks, particularly within party circles.

Koroma emphasized that such behavior is not in line with the values of the SLPP, distancing the party from any form of verbal attacks or defamation. “It is unacceptable for anyone here to attack and abuse people or their parents. This is not the SLPP way, and I completely distance the SLPP from such,” he stated.

The Secretary General went on to warn that individuals have the right to take legal action to protect their integrity, stressing that political affiliation does not justify abusive behavior. “When people start taking action for their rights and integrity, no one will rely on the SLPP,” Koroma cautioned.

He urged party members and supporters to remain focused on the tasks ahead and to refrain from engaging in personal attacks, reminding them of the importance of unity and respect within the party.

Koroma’s remarks come at a time when tensions have been rising, and his message serves as a call for decorum and professionalism among party members
