The Kamajei Chiefdom authorities, under the leadership of Paramount Chief Brima Sundufu Sovula IV, have issued a stern warning against the rampant sale and use of the illicit substance known as Kush within the chiefdom.
The proliferation of Kush sales and usage has sparked significant concerns among chiefdom stakeholders, prompting decisive action against this perilous trend. Kush, an illegal substance in Sierra Leone, poses serious threats to the lives of those involved and undermines community progress and security.
Expressing unequivocal condemnation of the sale and use of Kush and its associated substances, the chiefdom authorities emphasize that engaging in such unlawful activities not only violates the law but also endangers the lives of individuals within the community.
To tackle this pressing issue head-on, the Kamajei Chiefdom governance council urges all individuals engaged in the sale and use of Kush to immediately cease their involvement. Failure to comply with this warning will result in severe consequences, including the intervention of law enforcement agencies, potential arrests, and legal repercussions.
Furthermore, the council asserts that the community will be informed of the identities, family names, and locations of those participating in illegal drug sales and use, subjecting them to public ridicule. Additionally, an undisclosed task force team will be assembled to conduct rigorous raids on households and communities suspected of facilitating the sale or consumption of Kush.
Paramount Chief Sovula IV and the governance council stress that the sale and use of Kush and other illicit substances not only jeopardize the health and safety of individuals but also contribute to increased crime rates and hinder the chiefdom’s progress. As a result, they pledge to mobilize all available resources to combat this menace and protect the interests of the community.
This warning serves as a final opportunity for individuals involved in illegal drug activities to reconsider their choices and prioritize the well-being of themselves and the entire community. The Kamajei Chiefdom governance council hopes that community members will make the right decision and join hands in creating a safe and prosperous environment for all.
