Gbandoma Alfred Sovula Esq., son of the former Inspector General of the Sierra Leone Police, Ambrose Sovula, has made history by being crowned as the youngest Paramount Chief in Sierra Leone.
At the age of 34, Sovula emerged victorious in the paramount chieftaincy elections of the Bumpeh Ngao Chiefdom in Bo District, part of the country’s Southern Province.
According to results announced by the Electoral Commision for Sierra Leone (ECSL), Sovula secured 77% of the vote, with 805 votes cast in his favor, defeating his opponent, Makavore Moses Samba, who garnered 241 votes, representing 23.04%.
