A young boy named Alhaji Foday Turay from Lungi, who fell from a tree and sustained severe spinal cord damage has called on the government and humanitarians for financial assistance to access urgent medical treatment.

According to family sources, it was confirmed that the incident occurred when Alhaji fell from a tree, leading to complications with his spinal cord, a vital part of the central nervous system.

In the aftermath of the accident, Alhaji was immediately rushed to Lungi Government Hospital. Unfortunately, due to the severity of his injuries, the medical team issued a referral to Connaught Hospital in Freetown for further evaluation.

The family reported spending Twenty Thousand New Leones (NLe20,000) during that initial treatment; however, the condition of Alhaji remained critical.

At Connaught Hospital, the family faced further medical challenges as staff indicated that additional care was necessary. They were later directed to Life Care Hospital, where doctors informed them that Alhaji requires surgery to address his spinal injuries.

The operation, however, comes at a substantial cost of One Hundred Thousand New Leones (NLe100,000), a sum the family is unable to afford.

Facing the daunting financial barrier, the family has issued an urgent appeal for assistance. They are asking for help from the government, humanitarian organizations, and kind-hearted individuals to support them in financing Alhaji’s life-saving surgery.

The family expressed their deep concern for Alhaji’s wellbeing, stating, “We don’t want to lose our brother.” Those willing to offer support can contact the family directly at +23278986336.
