Both boys and girls with their appropriate learning dress code, started their move in the early hours of the day.
According to Islam, Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon) was the last prophet and final messanger of God( Allah). He was born on 12 of Rabiulawal (29 August 570 CE) the third month of the Islamic calender. Celebration of this birthday has controversies among Islamic scholars.
In an interview with sheik Alimamy Bangura, one of the Imams of Falabah Mosque which is widely considered as the central mosque because of it’s location, said “People used to celebrate it before, but based on advance Islamic findings, that is not allowed. The only thing necessary, is to embark on worshiping acts and not other forms of celebrations.” He added that the day is important because it marks the birth of the Prophet. In his last statement, he advised his followers to endeavour to keep themselves holy and do some acts of worship on the day.
