The Tankoro Police Division has arrested the CEO of Black Gate, described by authorities as one of the main Kush dealers operating in Koidu City.
Residents have repeatedly complained about the growing influence of Kush and the rise in related crimes, calling for stronger police action.
The arrest was carried out by a team led by Operations Commander Mr. Sesay, supported by OSD officers. Police sources say the operation followed weeks of surveillance and intelligence gathering aimed at disrupting drug networks in the area.
Community members have welcomed the development, describing it as a sign that the police are stepping up efforts against the drug trade that has affected many young people in the city.
Last month, a separate raid in Koidu Central led to the arrest of a man found with several wraps of suspected Kush. That operation formed part of the ongoing “End Kush” campaign launched by the Central Youth Organization to combat drug abuse across Kono District.
