The Sierra Leonean social media community is in mourning following the sudden death of popular TikTok content creator Abdulai Bangura, widely known as “Man Abacha.”
Bangura passed away on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at approximately 10:40 PM while receiving treatment at the Connaught Teaching Hospital in Freetown. Reports indicate that his death followed a brief illness.
A resident of Thunder Hill in the East End of Freetown, Man Abacha garnered a significant following on social media for his engaging entertainment content.
He was particularly best known for his cooking videos and his enthusiastic commentary on reality television, having established himself as a prominent figure in the local digital entertainment space.
Tributes have begun pouring in from fans and loved ones, describing Bangura as a “kind and loving soul.” He is remembered by close associates for his devotion to his family, specifically the care he provided for his sisters.
Funeral arrangements have not yet been made public. A formal statement regarding the burial is expected to be released by the family in due course.
