Two students identified as Ahmed Daramy and Alhaji Sorie Jalloh have been remanded by Magistrate Sahr Kekura at the Male Correctional Centre in Freetown, for allegedly assaulting and wounding their colleague, Henry Dumbuya.

The accused are before Magistrate Sahr Kekura of the Pademba Road Magistrate Court No. 1 in Freetown, on charges ranging from wounding, wounding with intent, and assault.

According to the Charge sheet, on Monday, February 19th, 2024, along Kissy Road in Freetown, Henry Dumbuya was reportedly assaulted and wounded, by accused number one and two, thereby causing him severe bodily harm.

It further stated that the accused persons purportedly inflicted intentional and malicious wounds upon Henry Dumbuya, resulting in grievous bodily harm.

The two accused made their first appearance in court where the charges were read and explained to them.

However, the prosecution requested an adjournment to be able to present witnesses in court. The defence counsel on the other hand applied for bail on behalf of his clients.

In response, Magistrate Kekura dismissed the bail application and remand both accused in custody. The matter was adjourned to the 19th of March for further hearing.
