The Southern Regional Police Command, under the leadership of Assistant Inspector General of Police Brima Kanneh, successfully executed a drug-related investigation resulting in the seizure of 41 ounces of Kush and the arrest of two individuals.

On 19th March, 2025, police arrested Umaru Jalloh from Bo Number 2 Extension, Bo City, on charges of drug possession and distribution.

Following further inquiries, Andrew Kargbo from Tengbe Town, Freetown, was apprehended on 21st March, 2025. Authorities suspect Kargbo to be the supplier, while Jalloh is believed to have been distributing the substance locally.

During initial questioning, Kargbo stated that it was his first involvement with illegal activities in Bo, explaining that financial struggles drove his decisions. Investigators are currently examining potential links between him and larger organized drug networks.

Reportedly, AIG Brima Kanneh’s approach to community policing has bolstered cooperation between law enforcement and local communities, and that his strategy emphasizes gathering intelligence and promptly responding to criminal activities, helping to foster a safer environment.

As the investigation continues, both suspects are expected to face charges in court. The police have reiterated their dedication to maintaining law and order in the region and urged citizens to remain alert and report any suspicious behavior.
