A road accident occurred on Saturday along the Allentown Curve on the Waterloo highway, when a transport vehicle a transport vehicle crashed into a road construction machine that was clearing dirt by the roadside.

The incident left several people injured, though no deaths were recorded.

The accident happened during rush hour, leading to a temporary traffic jam as police officers and members of the public arrived to assist. Eyewitnesses said the transport vehicle appeared to lose control before veering off the road and crashing into the excavator.

Most of the injured were passengers travelling in the transport vehicle. Some sustained serious injuries and were taken for urgent medical treatment. The operator of the excavator also sustained minor injuries in the crash.

Authorities launched an investigation into the cause of the incident and began reviewing whether careless driving or other factors played a role. The affected stretch of road was later cleared, and traffic returned to normal.
