300 widows living in the East End of Freetown on Saturday, 3rd April 2023, elected Madam Aminata Kabbah as their Chairperson during an election that was conducted by the organizers of the Widows Organisation in constituency 116, Rokupa Community and its environs.

The election was organized and chaired by the founder, Marian Ann Kamara, Mohamed Thaimu Kamara, and Mr. Kposowa to help enhance the proper livelihood of the widows and vulnerable children.

The elected Chairperson, Madam Aminata Kabbah got 47 votes cast in an open election where hands were raised to vote for candidates.

Madam Kabbah however thanked and appreciated the role entrusted to her by the other widows. She said electing her will not be a fruitless endeavor but will further her commitment to all her colleague widows.

The elected Deputy Widows Chairperson, Chief Ya Alimamy Bangura who also contested for the same position, got 21 votes cast. She promised to commit herself to the purpose of colleague widows.
