Some widows in Bo district have accused members of the ruling Sierra Leone Peoples Party (SLPP) of defrauding them and have announced their backing for opposition politician Dr. Samura Kamara, and his running mate Chernor Maju Bah, and the All People’s Congress (APC) party ahead of next month’s elections. 

The widows expressed their frustration in a viral social media video, claiming that alleged SLPP members had organized them to obtain government support.

According to them, they were asked to contribute NLe200 to open an account, but instead, they only received T-shirts with the words “Widows Program FOSOW Bo Southern Region.”

These women have pledged their support to the APC party for the upcoming June 24th, 2023 elections.
