A 60-year-old woman, Susan Komba has been remanded at the Female Correctional Center by Magistrate Sahr Kekura over the alleged killing of her husband, Dennis Komba.

The accused, Susan made her maiden appearance in Court and was arraigned on one count charge of Manslaughter contrary to law.

According to the Court records, Susan Komba on Wednesday 1st December 2021, at Block 9 Grafton, unlawfully killed her husband, Dennis Komba. The accused is understood to be the second wife with to the deceased.

Allegations are that the accused physically abused the deceased, which led him to sustain bruises on his forehead. Dennis later complained of general body pains and later died after the assault.

The deceased was a retired Assistant Superintendent of Police.

Awoko Newspaper reports that, prosecuting the matter, Sergeant 9155 Dwight Marcarthy requested for an adjournment to have proper conference with his witnesses, as the accused was without a lawyer to stand on her behalf. Magistrate Sahr Kekura later remanded the accused and adjourned the matter to 14th February 2022.
