A 95-year-old woman, Mama Hawa Fortune has been brutally raped and beheaded by an alleged middle-aged man, in the Obama Section/Prison Area of Mattru Jong, Bonthe District.
The horrifying crime occurred on Friday 27th October 2023, during the day, after Juma’s prayers when there were no witnesses around.
Mama Hawa Fortune had recently moved to Mattru Jong from the village of Daama in the riverine area of Pujehun District, accompanied by her daughter, Mariama Fortune.
The perpetrator, identified as Mustapha Alpha, a native of Kailahun, was allegedly mentally disturbed and was seeking help from Pastor Joseph Kinbo, also known as Progress, who is in charge of the Faith Healing Bible Church.
The crime took place in the church’s store, where the perpetrator lives.
Eyewitnesses discovered Mama Hawa Fortune’s lifeless body, bearing signs of sexual assault and her head brutally severed.
The motive behind this heinous act remains unknown, leaving the community in a state of shock and sorrow.
Local authorities, including the police, are conducting a thorough investigation into this barbaric crime. Both the pastor and the suspect are currently in custody.
The exhibit was found in an unfinished Faith Healing Bible Church store where Mustapha Alpha lived, linking him to the crime scene.
