It has been captured from reliable sources that the prestigious Youyi building has now turned a breeding ground for stealing the vehicles of civil servants.
It is revealed to this Media House that as recent as the 9th September 2024 right inside Youyi building a Toyota jeep with registration number AGO 299 was stolen and up till now, there is no way out.
It is the private vehicle of a civil servant which was packed right inside the compound, in the morning and went to his office. Coming back in the evening to start the said vehicle to go home, only realized that his hard earned vehicle was missing.
This heartless act of stealing vehicles at Youyi building is rampant and there is neither proper control nor adequate security measures are being put in place to combat such a broad daylight robbery. It is stated that there is no CCTV camera to trace daily happenings, especially for such a cruel act.
However, information that reached this Writer has revealed that even last week Wednesday, the private vehicle of the Permanent Secretary attached at the Ministry of Transport was bitterly stolen and the outcome of its recovery is nothing good to write home about.
It is but scary to know that such a sensitive and lucrative building is not safe for civil servants to pack their vehicles while on duty. It is alleged that there are no proper checks and balances to know the particular vehicle that is coming in and the one going out at a particular point in time. Nobody cares, as if there are no security personnel assigned to secure the main entrance or gate.
Exclusive interviews with few key staff working at the Youyi building have expressed fear about the safety of their vehicles when they usually go for work. They are reiterating on the fact that they have no alternative park to pack their vehicles except at their place of work and such a rampant menace should now be a national concern, as they are calling on the Authorities in charge to take swift and stringent measures before things get out of hands. Attached is the photo of the recently stolen vehicle.
