The Yulisa Ahmadu Foundation secures the release of 5 inmates from the Bo correctional center (Prison).
Sierra Leonean US Based Youth Activist, Entrepreneur and Project Manager Yulisa Ahmadu launched his second project on 11th April, 2023 which aims at helping first time offenders in Sierra Leone from various correctional Centres across the country.
This project will facilitate the provision of lawyers to low-income earners who are in conflict with the law for minor crimes, and in some cases pay the complete fines for the inmates to secure their release. The said targeted offenders are people who cannot reasonably afford to hire a lawyer to defend themselves in trial. Or afford to pay for bail conditions for first time offenders under the age of 35 years.
Speaking to this medium, Yulisa said that the next targeted inmates to benefits from this Project will be from Kenema, Makeni and Freetown Correctional Center.
