The Mid-term Population and Housing Census, though was highly contested in Parliament, has gone through procedures and is finally ready to be conducted in December 2021.

1. The Mid-term Population And Housing Census was proclaimed or announced by President Julius Maada Bio in July 2021.

2. Statistics have received 20,000 electronic Tablets and 20,000 power banks for the Tablets for the Census.

3. Major international supporters and partners of the Census include UNFPA, UNECA, UNICEF, President and Government of the Republic of Kenya, the Mano River Union and the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China.

4. Statistics Sierra Leone have recruited 15,000 field staff for the Census and the recruited staff are being trained for the Census.

5. The Mid-term Population And Housing Census 2021 will be the first-ever digital Census-exercise in Sierra Leone.

6. Tuesday, 9th (Ninth) of December has been declared CENSUS NIGHT.

7. Wednesday 10th (Tenth) of December has been declared as the start of electronic enumeration for the Census.

8. The Census will run for 13 days, from the 10th to the 23rd December.

9. Training for the Census field staff commenced on the 29th November and will continue to the 8th December 2021.

10. The purposes of the Mid-term Census are:
