Today, 41, 000, Tons of Rice is the first largest tons of rice since the establishment of the Queen Elizabeth II Quay also known as Deep Water Quay, has arrived in Freetown under the passionate leadership of His Excellency President Dr Julius Maada Bio, as part of his desire to reduce the price increase for a bag of rice.
Records show that this is the first time in the Country’s history for such huge tonnage of rice to arrive.
This move is a clear testament to show that President Bio’s administration is ready at all times to improve the welfare of the citizens and to ensure that the country is self-sufficient with its daily staple food, rice.
The ship is called Bayraktar and will stay for more than a month.
The Government of Sierra Leone assumed management of the Quay in 1964 and no point it time they have received such tonnage of rice.
