USAID Administrator Samantha Power has stated that 73% of the eligible population in sierra Leone has now been vaccinated against COVID-19
In a tweet, Samantha states that Sierra Leone has achieved this substantial development after 15 Campaigns and coordinated with USAID support to provide immunization services to hard-to-reach communities and vulnerable groups
Over the years Ministry of Health and Sanitation (MOHS) implemented a nationwide COVID-19 vaccination program with support from USAID to improve access to vaccines for hard-to-reach populations.
According to UNICEF Effective social mobilization strategies play a critical role in getting community buy-in and acceptance in vaccination campaigns and help community members to easily access vaccines, especially during abnormal times and emergency periods.
