Video of ACC’s Francis Ben Kaifala Allegedly Rigging SLBA Election

A video making the rounds on social media allegedly implicates the ACC Commissioner, Francis Ben Kaifala of interfering with the Outcome of the 2024 Sierra Leone Bar Association result.

The commissioner in the said video was accused of allegedly issuing voting slips without proper verification of voters. This led to wide speculation of election rigging from Members of the Association.

This year’s Bar Association election was overshadowed by controversy, with the slogan “shame on you” echoing throughout the process.

A video captures lawyers shouting the phrase, though it remains unclear whom they were addressing. Ground sources suggest the ire was directed at national players allegedly attempting to interfere with the election.

Tuma Adama Gento Jabbi has been elected as the new President of the Sierra Leone Bar Association (SLBA).

Garnering a significant majority, Jabbi secured 506 votes, overwhelmingly defeating her opponents Wara Serry Kamal, who received 23 votes, and Augustine S. Marrah, who obtained 15 votes.
