The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has initiated a forensic investigation into corruption allegations surrounding a $50 million project for the construction of a new campus for the Institute of Public Administration and Management (IPAM) in Bureh Town, Western Area Rural District.

The ACC’s attention was drawn to the allegations following a publication in the August 2024 edition of Africa Confidential, which implicated the management of IPAM and Femab Properties, a Lagos-based firm, in the project. The report raises concerns about potential corruption in the handling of the project’s funds.

In a public statement, the ACC confirmed that it had carefully reviewed the publication and found sufficient grounds to warrant a full-scale investigation. The Commission assured the public of its unwavering commitment to combating corruption at all levels, emphasizing its readiness to take swift and decisive action wherever wrongdoing is detected.

The ACC’s move comes amid growing concerns about transparency and accountability in major infrastructure projects across the country. The Commission has urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities related to corruption, reiterating its dedication to upholding integrity and the rule of law in Sierra Leone.
