Africell Sierra Leone, in partnership with Taf Salone, has on Wednesday, 23rd April, 2025 officially launched its Jubilee Jombo Promotion, unveiling a fully furnished three-bedroom apartment posed to offer a lucky subscriber as a grand prize.
The event, which took place at the Taf Salone Micro City in Tokeh, aimed at celebrating the company’s two decade presence in Sierra Leone and 25 years across Africa.
The centerpiece of the Jubilee Jombo Promotion is a fully furnished 3-bedroom flat, which will be awarded to one lucky subscriber as a grand prize. The initiative reflects the campaign’s theme of transforming customer loyalty into life-changing opportunities.
Additionally, as confirmed by the management, participants can compete for daily and weekly prizes, which include cash, smartphones, mini-generators, and motorcycles (okadas).
To enter the promotion, subscribers need to recharge their phones with a minimum amount of NLe25. Notably, those using Afrimoney with the *161# code will double their chances of winning.
Speaking during the launch, Africell Sierra Leone CEO Shadi Gerjawi emphasized the significance of the campaign as part of the company’s commitment to providing more than just telecommunications services.
“This is not just the unveiling of a campaign. It is a celebration of history, resilience, and meaningful service,” Gerjawi stated. He expressed that the Jubilee Jombo Promotion is a gesture of appreciation towards every Sierra Leonean who has supported Africell throughout its journey.
Gerjawi also assured participants that all draws would be conducted live, ensuring transparency, asserting that Winners will be announced through radio, television, and social media.
General Manager of Taf Salone, Anita Sey, shared her optimism about the collaboration, highlighting its potential to empower individuals in their journey toward homeownership.
“This collaboration is about more than business,” Sey said, assuring that, “it’s about empowering people with the hope of owning a home. Taf Salone is on a mission to build one million homes across Africa, and this partnership with Africell aligns perfectly with that goal.”
She emphasized that the Jubilee Jombo promotion brings together two powerful ideas: connectivity and home ownership. “Together, we’re creating spaces where individuals can thrive, and Africell helps connect those dreams to reality.”
The CEO of Afrimoney, Martinson Obeng-Agyei, addressed the evolving nature of basic human needs in the digital age. He pointed out that connectivity has become fundamental alongside food, clothing, and shelter.
“The internet is no longer a luxury, it’s a necessity for education, communication, and commerce,” he explained, affirming that, “by using Afrimoney to recharge, subscribers not only enhance their financial freedom, but they also stand a chance to become landlords. It’s a win-win.”
Obeng-Agyei encouraged participants to take full advantage of the promotion by using Afrimoney for airtime purchases, highlighting how digital tools are helping redefine access and opportunity across Sierra Leone.
The Jubilee Jombo draws will be broadcast every weekday, from Monday to Friday, at 6:30 PM on AYV TV, AfriRadio 105.3 FM, the Africell Facebook page, and various major radio stations across the country.
The promotion coincides with the notable milestones of both Africell and Taf Salone, symbolizing their shared commitment to the upliftment and growth of Sierra Leonean communities.
