The Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Henry Musa Kpaka, commissioned Mulu Poultry Farm Ltd as part of the Government’s partnership with the private sector to transform Sierra Leone’s agricultural sector.
Speaking at the ceremony, Minister Kpaka described the facility as the first of its kind in Kono District, operating a modern battery cage production system. With an initial stock of 3,000-layer birds, the farm produces approximately 3,000 fresh eggs per day.
The owner of Mulu Poultry Farm, Sitta Kaikai, expressed that her passion to feed fellow Sierra Leoneans continues to grow each day.

She further explained that her poultry business demonstrates the multiplier effect of targeted government support, catalyzing growth, encouraging reinvestment, and strengthening agricultural value chains.
”Mulu Poultry Farm stands as a shining example of what is possible when national policy direction aligns with private sector ambition,” Minister Kpaka said.
Through partnerships like this, Minister Kpaka said, the President’s vision is translating into measurable impact, increased production, job creation for communities, and more locally produced food on Sierra Leonean tables.
