Sierra Leone’s FGM Activist, Alimatu Dimonekene, Awarded The Most Excellent Order of The British Empire

Award Winning Women and Girls Rights Advocate,  Alimatu Y Dimonekene, has been awarded the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (OBE) in the King’s New Year’s List.

The list recongises outstanding achievements of people across the United Kingdom.

Dimonekene was awarded for her services to the Prevention of Violence against Women & Children.

She is one of the Sierra Leoneans in the Diaspora creating impact on gender issues especially on violence against women and girls and ending FGM.
