Sierra Leone’s Presidential Spokesman, Alpha Kanu, has reiterated President Bio’s unwavering dedication to achieving sustainable electricity and national development across the nation.

During a recent statement, Kanu highlighted President Bio’s visit to the People’s Republic of China as a significant step towards enhancing sustainable development in Sierra Leone. He emphasized that this visit has opened doors to numerous opportunities for the country.

Kanu revealed that the World Harmony Foundation, headquartered in New York and Beijing, has initiated a project called “Lighting Up Africa.” As part of this initiative, Sierra Leone has been selected as a pilot project, with plans to illuminate streets using solar energy. The Foundation has generously donated approximately 680,000 solar street lamps to the country, ensuring that no town, village, or city will be left in darkness.

“In this project called lighting up Africa they have decided that they will take Sierra Leone as a pilot project, by lighting the streets as a start, they have donated about 680,000 solar streetlamps to the country,” he stated.

He added that there will no town, no village, no city in Sierra Leone that will be in dark.

Furthermore, Kanu disclosed that other energy groups, such as Windmill, have pledged support by donating windmills to enhance the country’s power grids.

In his address, Kanu called upon all Sierra Leoneans to place their trust in President Bio, emphasizing that there are many forthcoming developments in terms of sustainable development.

He passionately appealed for unity among citizens and urged everyone to collaborate with President Julius Maada Bio in advancing Sierra Leone’s development, particularly in realizing the ambitious FEED SALONE agenda.
