Female Genital Mutilation is a traditional practice in Sierra Leone which has been in existence for ages.
Over the years different, different organizations and groups have call for it eradication as the say is a bad practice.

The Amazonian Initiative Movement (AIM-SL) has commenced the bloodless Bondo which many refered to as rite of passage in Matotoka Town.

This Initiative is to ensure that FGM practice becomes the thing of the past in Sierra Leone. FGM practice has an adverse effects on the health of women and girls. Madam Rugiatu Neneh Koroma has admonished the new initiate to be steadfast and to observe traditional protocols. She assured all that they will leave in the society with good traditional benefits.

Meanwhile, 60 full grown women all above 18 years of age have been taken to the Bloodless bondo bush for initiation.
The 60 women will spend the next two weeks in Bondo bush.
According to Madam Neneh Koroma, during this period, the women will observed all the Bondo tradition protocols in exception of the FGM.
