Sierra Leone’s Ambassador-designate to the Islamic Republic of Iran, Salamu Koroma, officially bid farewell to President Julius Maada Bio in a formal ceremony at State House.
The event, led by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Francess Piagie Alghali, underscored Sierra Leone’s commitment to fortifying diplomatic ties with Iran.
Ambassador Koroma expressed his gratitude to President Bio for entrusting him with the diplomatic mission and vowed to advance Sierra Leone’s interests in Iran.
He emphasized his commitment to boosting trade relations, promoting cultural exchanges, and supporting educational initiatives.
A key focus of his mission will be to strengthen the existing ties between both nations while ensuring the safety and well-being of Sierra Leonean nationals residing in Iran.
In his remarks, President Bio congratulated the Ambassador on his new role, noting the challenges that come with the position but expressing confidence in Koroma’s ability to deliver results.
The President highlighted the importance of deepening partnerships with Iran in areas like trade and investment, and he assured the Ambassador of the government’s full support.
The President further urged Ambassador Koroma to foster meaningful collaborations and return with positive developments that would benefit Sierra Leone.
