Ambassador Mohamed Yongawo, representing the Republic of Sierra Leone in the Russian Federation, presented his letter of credence to His Excellency Emomali Rahmonov, the President of Tajikistan.
The official ceremony took place on Friday 15th March 2024 in the capital city of Dushanbe, marking a milestone in Sierra Leone’s efforts to strengthen bilateral relations on the global stage.
Ambassador Yongawo’s diplomatic expansion aligns with President Dr. Julius Maada Bio’s vision of fostering stronger ties with nations worldwide. By establishing formal diplomatic channels with Tajikistan, Sierra Leone aims to enhance cooperation and collaboration across various sectors.
During his visit to Dushanbe, Ambassador Yongawo engaged in productive discussions with Tajikistan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and other key stakeholders from both governmental and private sectors. These discussions focused on exploring opportunities for mutual cooperation and partnership in areas of common interest.
