The All Peoples Congress (APC) party has firmly disassociated itself from Mr. Alfred Peter Conteh, who it says falsely claims to be the Chairman of the party.

In a press release issued on November 25, 2024, the APC condemned Mr. Conteh for what it described as unauthorized and misleading communications dated November 18 and 25, 2024.

The APC clarified that Mr. Conteh holds no position of authority within the party, reaffirming that Hon. Minkailu Mansaray is the duly elected National Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. The party stated that any issues raised by Mr. Conteh in his unauthorized letters have already been addressed through official channels.

The APC emphasized that matters such as electoral irregularities and democratic concerns have been thoroughly engaged with the Electoral Commission for Sierra Leone (ECSL), development partners, and the international community. According to the party, Mr. Conteh’s actions are an attempt to mislead, distort facts, and tarnish the APC’s reputation.

“We strongly warn Mr. Conteh to desist from further impersonation and misrepresentation of the APC,” the statement said.

The party also demanded that Mr. Conteh immediately retract all unauthorized communications issued in the party’s name and warned of disciplinary and legal actions should he fail to comply.

The APC called on national and international institutions to disregard any communications from Mr. Conteh purporting to represent the party. It also urged these institutions to assist in holding Mr. Conteh accountable by refusing to engage with him on APC-related matters. A copy of the disclaimer was sent to the Political Parties Regulation Commission (PPRC).

The APC reaffirmed its commitment to democracy, transparency, and the rule of law in Sierra Leone, vowing to focus on addressing the nation’s pressing challenges.
