First Lady Fatima Maada Bio has strongly dismissed allegations surrounding her alleged eviction from a property, accusing the opposition All People’s Congress (APC) of orchestrating a campaign of misinformation aimed at damaging her reputation.

Responding to public discussions generated by reports of an alleged eviction, the First Lady described the claims as false and politically motivated, insisting that the tenancy agreement in question was terminated through a mutual and lawful understanding between the parties involved.

“How do you evict a person who doesn’t even live in the property?” Mrs. Bio questioned, rejecting suggestions that she had been forced out of the premises. She maintained that both parties willingly agreed to end the tenancy arrangement and formally signed the relevant documents.

According to the First Lady, the matter has been unnecessarily revived despite having already been concluded, describing the controversy as “stale news” being recycled for political purposes.

Bio further accused the APC of repeatedly attempting to drag her into controversies, referencing previous narratives that linked her to debates surrounding the Bondo society before the emergence of the current eviction claims.

“First, it was the Bondo society narrative, now it’s a fake eviction, so what is next? APC, allow me to breathe!” she stated.

The First Lady argued that the continued focus on her personal affairs reflects a broader effort by political opponents to distract from substantive national issues. She maintained that there was no legal dispute, forced removal, or eviction process associated with the property arrangement.

In a statement that underscored her determination to remain focused on her work, Bio echoed a popular remark attributed to Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, saying: “This is my time.”
