The All People’s Congress (APC) has formally petitioned the Political Parties Regulation Commission (PPRC) to intervene in what it describes as repeated and unwarranted public statements made by the Chief Minister, Dr. David Moinina Sengeh, against the opposition party.

Speaking on the matter, APC Secretary General Lansana Dumbuya accused the Chief Minister of persistently making statements that, in his view, are unfounded and intended to tarnish the image of the APC and its leadership. He warned that continued provocation could trigger a political response from the party.

According to Dumbuya, the APC is urging the PPRC to caution the Chief Minister and remind him of the need for responsible public discourse, particularly given his position as a senior government official.

“The Chief Minister has continued to make frivolous claims against the APC,” Dumbuya stated. “We are calling on the PPRC to step in and advise him to refrain from such remarks. Failure to do so will leave the APC with no choice but to respond appropriately.”

He emphasized that the PPRC, as the constitutional body mandated to regulate political parties and promote peaceful political engagement, has a responsibility to prevent statements that could undermine political tolerance and national cohesion.

Addressing internal party matters, Dumbuya also reassured APC members across the country that the ongoing distribution of party membership cards is being carried out in a transparent and accountable manner. He dismissed claims of irregularities, insisting that the process adheres strictly to party guidelines.

“There is no hidden agenda in the membership card exercise,” he said. “Every genuine APC member will be registered, and the process remains open and credible.”

In addition, the APC Secretary General encouraged party supporters and the wider public to participate fully in the upcoming national census, describing it as vital for effective governance, development planning, and equitable resource allocation.
