The membership of the main opposition All People’s Congress (APC) party will on 6th October, 2021 face the Freetown High Court presided by Justice Adrian Fisher to update the Bench on the authorized processes leading to the approval of the new party constitution, and also to continue with the substantive petition matter before the court.
The Acting National Publicity Secretay of the APC, Sidi Yayah Tunis made the disclosure following the conclusion of the three-day Emergency National Delegates’ Conference in Makeni city to adopt the new APC Constitutions.
According to Sidi Yayah Tunis, the APC is now at the stage of presenting the new constitution of the Freetown High Court and the Political Parties Registration Commission (PPRC), noting that the document will be gazetted by PPRC for public scrutiny.
He furthered that if there are any objections to the gazetted document, those objections would be addressed before the document would be re-gazetted for final approval and recognition before the implementation stage.
The APC Publicity Secretary continued that during the October 6 High Court sessions, the APC will explain to the court how the orders issued out by the presiding Judge were carried out, and also present the relevant evidence to the court.
He asserted that the new constitution was progressive and would make the APC formidable and functional both in governance and in position.
Mr. Tunis also noted that the new document would bring unity and progress to the rank-and-file party.
