The National Advisory Committee (NAC) of the main opposition All People’s Congress (APC) has officially affirmed the re-admission of Chief Alhaji Sam Sumana to the party. The announcement was made in a press release dated May 23, 2024.

According to the release, the NAC met with Chief Alhaji Samuel Sam Sumana, former Vice President of the Republic of Sierra Leone, and his entourage on May 22, 2024, at the party’s headquarters in Freetown. The meeting confirmed Chief Alhaji Sam Sumana’s re-admission to the APC, which was initially approved during the February National Delegates’ Conference. This decision complies with the APC’s November 2022 Constitution.

The press release highlights that the discussions during the meeting were cordial and constructive. Chief Alhaji Sam Sumana assured the committee of his dedication to working with the party to foster unity and cohesion.

“We are pleased to inform our membership and the general public of Chief Alhaji Samuel Sumana’s readmission to the APC,” the statement read. “This affirmation reflects our commitment to inclusivity and unity within the party.”
