The Political Parties Registration Commission, the Electoral Commission of Sierra Leone and the National Democratic Institute are currently meeting with leaders of 11 Political Parties in Gallines Paradise, Bo City.

In his opening statement, the Chairman of the PPRC Mohamed Masiambay Bangura Esq dilated on the theme of the gathering ‘join han for betteh Salone’ and urged all political parties to deepen their internal democratic practices that will reflect on the national political space.

Among the Political Parties present at the august gathering are:

1. SLPP (ruling party)
2. UNPP
3. NDA
4. CDP
5. C4C
6. ADP
7. RUFP
8. PLP
9. UDM
10. PDP
11. RENIP

Conspicuously absent is the main opposition All People’s Party that has decided to align themselves with a Consortium of Political Parties that has no legal standing. Some of the parties in the unrecognized COPPP could not even muster 1% of registered voters in the country.

The presence of the PPRC chairman, the ECSL Chief Mohamed Kenuwui Konneh and the NDI boss Mr. Mohamed Ibrahim Konneh is proof of the legal status of APPA and the endorsement of their existence as the recognized umbrella body of all political parties in Sierra Leone.
