Sierra Leone’s President, Julius Maada Bio has in an interview shed more light on the reason why appointed Dennis Vandy as Finance Minister despite corruption allegations.
President Bio in an interview with CNN’s Zain Asher about why he hired the new Finance Minister said Vandy was found not guilty of all corruption allegations that were being levied against him as it was easy to claim the someone was corrupt.
“He had a very long legal process that proved he was not guilty,” He said.

He added that anyone can make such outlandish claims that the other person is corrupt, but as a law-abiding country, we go through the entire length to make sure that when claims or allegations are made they find out the truth.
“When claims or allegations are made, we bring them to a court of law and then we take the necessary actions if found guilty,” He said.
