Authorities are urgently seeking public assistance in locating a baby reported missing from the Special Care Baby Unit at Ola During Children’s Hospital and Princess Christian Maternity Hospital (ODCH/PCMH) in Freetown.

The infant went missing on Friday, June 6, 2025.

Hospital management, in conjunction with law enforcement agencies including the Police and the Criminal Investigations Department (CID), have been working to locate the child since the disappearance.

The Sierra Leone Nurses Association (SLNA) and the Sierra Leone Medical and Dental Association (SLMA), in collaboration with the hospital, have issued an appeal to the public for credible information. A reward of 100,000 New Leones (equivalent to 100 million Old Leones) will be given to the first person who provides a tip leading to the baby’s safe recovery.

All information received will be treated as confidential and anonymous. Rewards can be paid via cash, Orange Money, Africell Money, or bank transfer.

Anyone with information is urged to contact the SLNA immediately at +232 76 985999 or +232 78 36 20 36.

Officials emphasize the desire to reunite the baby with its family and allow healthcare workers to return to their regular duties. The SLNA and SLMA expressed hope and prayers for the baby’s safe return.

The appeal was signed by representatives of both the SLNA and SLMA on June 11, 2025.
