Multiple Award-winning folksinger and activist, Fantacee Wiz lamented on how it becomes heartbreaking and disrespectful for being an artiste Sierra Leone.

The folksinger highlighted that; social media has made people to easily get in touch with people that they wouldn’t have had access to. The activist emphasized on this issue because the way some fans are reacting on them when they share their lifestyles.

On her Facebook page’ the Fantacee shared;

“Being an Artiste in Salone is so heartbreaking & disrespectful, b/c even those that would never I mean those that will never in their life get to meet you in person, will come on Facebook (yes Facebook b/c they don’t even have the data for Instagram and don’t even know how Twitter works) will have an opinion & talking down on Artists.

Those that has never in their life created anything with no creative bone in their body will tell an Artiste how to go about their Art. All those International acts you keep comparing us to didn’t get their by themselves, their country people got them there.

Those that’ll praise International acts like Sarkodie, Diamond Platnum, Olammide, Phyno etc and jam to their songs when they don’t even understand their language, will have the panache to tell Salone Artists to sing international songs. Aw international don tan lek now?

When you sing inspirational songs oh so so book book we want dance, when you do dance songs oh so so dance dance Ena begin sing tin way go educate.

It’s ok to have a favourite, it’s ok to be choosy but it’s not ok to think we all should sing/sound like foreigners for you to accept our songs.
