Sierra Leone’s President Julius Maada Bio on Friday 9th February 2024 officially opened and delivered the keynote address at the 59th edition of the Jalsa Salana, organised by the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at Sierra Leone under the theme “Islam Means Peace”.
This important Annual Gathering has become a bastion for promoting spiritual growth, fostering community among members, and a platform for religious discourse.
In his Keynote Address as the Chief Guest, President Bio admonished the delegates on the importance of sustaining the basic tenets of Islam, as aptly captured by the theme of the conference, especially in national life and interpersonal relationships.
President Bio extended gratitude to the Ahmadi Muslim brothers and sisters for their significant contribution towards the progress and development of the country, embodying the values of peace, justice, and charity.
He stated, “On the occasion of the well-organized 59th Jalsa Salana, I commend the humanitarian and spiritual efforts of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at for over 100 years in Sierra Leone and reaffirm my Government’s commitment to supporting the Mission in promoting its vision in our nation”.
He concluded by wishing all participants a peaceful and spiritually enlightened 3-Day Jalsa Salana Sierra Leone 2024.
