Sierra Leone’s President, Julius Maada Bio, engaged the President of the Africa’s premier development finance institution, AfDB Group, Akin Adesina, at the African Climate Summit held in Nairobi, Kenya.

They discussed Sierra Leone’s five-year national development strategy with specific emphasis on FEED SALONE and the gradual transition to green growth strategy.

The African Climate Summit, ACS23, graced by 24 Heads of State and over 30,000 delegates, started from the 4th of September and is expected to end on the 6th.

The ACS23, under the theme: “Driving Green Growth and Climate Finance Solutions for Africa and the World”, aims to address the increasing exposure to climate change and its associated costs, both globally and particularly in Africa.

In pursuing innovative green growth and climate finance solutions to address his country’s climate change adaptation and mitigation challenges, President Bio also engaged the CEO of Sustainable Energy for All (SE4All), Damiola Ogunbiyi.

Their discussion explored potential areas for collaboration and underscored the ongoing support provided by Sustainable Energy for All to help Sierra Leone achieve its sustainable energy access goals.
