Sierra Leone’s President, Brig. (Rtd.) Julius Maada Bio, has announced the appointment of Madam Isata Jabbie Kabbah as the Presidential Adviser on Gender, Office of the President.
In a letter addressed to Madam Kabbah, President Bio expressed his pleasure in appointing her to this crucial role. The letter stated:
“I write to inform you that it has pleased His Excellency the President, Brig. (Rtd.) Julius Maada Bio to appoint you as Presidential Adviser on Gender, Office of the President.”
The specific Terms and Conditions of Service related to this appointment will be communicated to Madam Kabbah in due course. The President extended his congratulations to her and expressed his best wishes for success in this new assignment.
Madam Isata Jabbie Kabbah’s appointment will officially commence upon her reporting for duty. She has been given the opportunity to signify her acceptance or decline of the offer in writing.
Prior to her appointment, Madam Kabbah served as a former women’s leader of the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP).
On 11 May 2008, she married Ahmed Tejan Kabbah, then President of Sierra Leone, 38 years her senior (for he was a elderly widower with adult children and grandchildren, and she was never married at the time of their marriage).
Based on the writeup the president do not need any parliamentary approval for this appointment? wow! Only in Africa you can see the all mighty president who will just wake up and declare what he wants and no body will dare to ask or question. May God deliver Africa
H.E appointment now is based on party card membership , from one relative to and other….
Congratulations on new role though
