President Julius Maada Bio has appointed Ms. Martina B. Egbenda Esq. as the new Administrator and Registrar General, and Mr. Daniel E. Johnson Esq. as the Deputy Administrator and Registrar General.
The appointments were announced by the Office of the President at State House in a public notice dated January 28, 2024, and signed by the Secretary to the President, Dr. Emmanuel A.R. Gama.
The Administrator and Registrar General’s office plays a crucial role in Sierra Leone’s legal and administrative framework.
It is responsible for a wide range of functions, including the registration of births, deaths, and marriages, the registration of business names and companies, and the custody and preservation of important legal documents. The office also oversees the administration of estates and trusts.
