President Julius Maada Bio has expressed his condolences to the government and people of Ghana following the fatal helicopter crash that claimed the lives of several high-ranking Ghanaian government officials and military personnel.
In an official statement released, President Bio conveyed deep sorrow over the incident, which has shocked the West African region.
“I am deeply saddened to hear about the tragic helicopter crash in Ghana that has taken the lives of the Minister of Defense, the Minister of Environment, and the entire crew,” the statement read.

President Bio extended his sympathies directly to Ghanaian President John Dramani Mahama and the citizens of Ghana, affirming Sierra Leone’s solidarity during this period of national mourning.

“My heartfelt condolences go out to His Excellency President Mahama and the people of Ghana during this incredibly difficult time. Please know that the people of Sierra Leone stand in solidarity with you as you mourn this profound loss. We are with you in your grief,” he stated.
The message comes amid widespread regional and international expressions of sympathy, as Ghana grapples with the sudden loss of senior leaders, including Defense Minister Dr. Edward Omane Boamah and Environment Minister Alhaji Dr. Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed.
