First Lady Fatima Maada Bio, alongside her husband, His Excellency Dr. Julius Maada Bio, hosted a solemn Quranic reading at the Presidential Lodge this morning to honor the memory of the late Yea Amie, the President’s mother, who passed away 24 years ago.
The event brought together several Imams and members of the Muslim community in a powerful display of unity and faith.
It served as a moment of reflection and a collective act of remembrance, with the gathering offering prayers for the soul of the late Yea Amie.
In a statement, the First Lady described the occasion as a poignant reminder of the strength found in shared faith and communal support during times of loss.
“It reflected not only our respect for the deceased but also a collective expression of grief and support among family and friends,” she noted.
The Quranic reading underscored the importance of honoring loved ones who have passed and fostering a spirit of togetherness within the community.
