President Julius Maada Bio has informed the public about his meeting with Captain Ibrahim Traore, Head of State of the Republic of Burkina Faso.
President Bio expressed his pleasure at receiving first-hand information on the situation in the Sahel.
In his statement, President Bio emphasized the importance of understanding the issues in Burkina Faso and the Sahel as Sierra Leone presides over the United Nations Security Council for the month of August and serves on the African Union’s Peace and Security Council.
President Bio thanked Captain Ibrahim Traore for his hospitality and the open and honest discussions. He emphasized the importance of continuing these engagements with mutual trust and respect to achieve the shared objective of resolving conflicts and disagreements in the sub-region.
